Premium Academic Programming

Premium Academic Programming

In 2017, students' access to premium academic programming was on full display. Here are some of the highlights:

  • The Beloit Residencies

    • Bringing to campus premiere scholars, artists, and academics like:

      • Michael Greenstone, Chief Economist for President Obama's Council of Economic Advisors

      • Dr. Moya Bailey, scholar of critical race, feminist and disability studies at Northeastern University

      • Eskinder Negash, Acting Chief Executive Officer at the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants

      • Beloit's own Amanda Browder'98, an American installation artist

  • Beloit's Teaching Museums

    • The Wright Museum of Art and the Logan Museum of Anthropology both provide specialized annual programming like the Wright's Annual Wanda Hollensteiner'54 Conservation Lecture Series and the Logan Museum's frequent student-curated exhibitions.

  • The Advising Practicum

    • A semi-annual, all-campus event that includes a full-day series of workshops and sessions meant to help students reflect on their educational experiences and goals with guidance and expertise of advisors, professors, professional career development staff, and alumni.

What happens in the classroom is important, but it is outside of the classroom that real connections are made. Beloit students have year-round access to premium programming aimed at enhancing the academic experience they're here to pursue.
